Thanks to all at Leon Norell Rugs for a delightful connection for us in choosing a nice rug for our space, we are over the moon with the choice made,a beautiful experience !!
Great Choice and Excellent Service
We came upon Leon Norell Carpets from an internet search, and arranged to visit the warehouse, a journey of about eight miles. We have some previous experience of purchasing Oriental carpets and had been looking around for a while for a room sized carpet for a reception room. Mr Norell dealt with us personally, and offered an excellent choice. We settled on a Kashan, which he was happy for us to take initially on a sale or return basis.
We also had in mind to purchase a runner for our hall, to replace an existing Bokhara. This needed to be longer than many on the market, and we had fairly specific requirements as to width. We returned, and again Mr Norell dealt with us personally. From his vast stock, he was able to offer us several choices that fitted our measurements. We settled on a Hamadan, also initially offered on sale or return.
Both have proved to be excellent choices.
We were very impressed by the range of the stock, the courteous and unpressurised service, and Mr Norell’s concern that we should be completely happy with our purchases. We felt that both purchases represented good value for money, and the journey was well worth making. We are very happy to commend Leon Norell Carpets to anyone looking for a wide choice of Oriental carpet at a reasonable price, and will certainly consider returning ourselves if we want to buy more such carpets.
Excellent service & a huge selection of rugs
Huge selection of quality rugs to choose from. Friendly staff who were very helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent service, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Helpful, knowledgeable and would recommend to others
We were looking to buy 2 rugs (living room and bedroom) for our flat. Searched online and my first point was a-z site. Found the rugs we liked but my husband found out they were made of polypropylene. Had no idea what they were so researched it online. Turns out it is synthetic and online articles and forums advised to buy a proper wool rug. Now searched online quite a bit and found out that the woollen rugs are expensive than polypropylene. Phew!!!.
Fast forward>> Somehow we found out Leon Norell Rugs and the rugs were woollen and most importantly the prices were close to our budget but it had no option to buy online. So my husband called Leon Norell Rugs asking if they sell online. He said no as he sells from the warehouse and his stocks keep changing. He said either we can visit the warehouse to buy or he can send us photos of the various rugs and we buy it over the phone and he ships them.
We decided to visit the warehouse and met Leon Norell the owner. He showed us around the warehouse and was amazedthe amount of choices. We liked one, then liked another, just could not make up our mind. Finally, we decided on 3 (his prices allowed 3 even though it was slightly over our budget). We asked him if we can return it should it does not look good in our flat. He said his return policy is 14 days but told us we can try it first at home and pay after a week. Since we had 14 days to return, we paid and are extremely happy.
A good buy that will last us for more than 30 years. He seemed genuine and honest and said he has been in the business for over 60 years. Would recommend to you all.Last thing, I swear if my husband not searched what polypropylene meant, I would have bought it from the big a-z company. One cannot notice any difference between them or the woollen one.
Pros: Nice, knowledgeable man and very helpful.
Price. Half of what we saw online for similar rugs.
Cons: Had to go to the warehouse to view the rugs.
Leon knows this business inside out. We took a photo of our existing carpet which he identified and gave us the full history of this type. He then spent a great deal of time, showing without pressurising us his massive stock. We are delighted with the quality and price of of our carpet purchase. It has been in our dining kitchen (away from cooking) for a few years now and still looks fantastic!
We were looking for two large carpets and spent a lot of time with Leon going through options and looking through his huge collection. We found Leon exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable and he helped us narrow down choices with great skill. Nothing was too much trouble. He delivered a selection of carpets to us so that we could try them before buying and when we couldn't find a particular style in the size we wanted he was able to commission one for us. We are delighted with the carpets and the service and would recommend Leon without hesitation.
I had a large, difficult space to fill: Leon brought over several very well selected examples having discussed my likely tastes/needs in advance. One was just the bill and I bought it without any hassle. Very happy to compliment Leon on his service and to recommend him.
I'd been looking for ages for a rug before I went to Leon. He patiently showed me lots of rugs, before an unusual one caught my eye. He let me take it home to see what it looked like in situ and then I bought it. It is perfect for the room and house! I never thought I'd find anything as special. 5* service, highly recommended.
Mr Norell took great trouble, and gave me good advice, in choosing a rug, to be given as a present, within the price range I specified. The result had been a complete success. I would recommend him to others in my position.
I am a London based Interior Designer and Leon has supplied oriental carpets to both my clients and myself. Leon is a knowledgeable, and trustworthy supplier in a world of carpets in which most of us have little expertise. Highly recommended.
